INKLUSI DALAM WACANA PILPRES 2019 PADA DETIK NEWS DAN SINDO NEWS: KAJIAN TEORI THEO VAN LEUWEEN

Abstrak

The news discourse displayed in the mass media, especially the online mass media differs from one institution to another. This difference is caused by the ability and the interests of journalists in writing news to be achieved by these online mass media institutions. The difference in the news displayed by the online mass media can be seen from the actors displayed in the news discourse. The actor presented in the discourse is a study of the critical discourse analysis of Theo van Leuween's model of inclusion (the actors to be shown). Actors are displayed in discourse to marginalize their position or actors are displayed to corner others.

The method used in this research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Descriptive qualitative method is defined as a problem-solving procedure by describing the state of the subject or object of the researcher to uncover the facts that show up. The data collection method uses the documentation method with reading and note taking techniques. The data sources in this study are 2019 Election news in the Detik News and Sindo News online newspapers, 5-11 August 2018 edition, January 13-19 2019, February 17-27 2019, April 14-20 2019, May 19-25 2019, and June 23-29 2019.

The results of this study indicate that 2019 presidential election news in the Detik News and Sindo News are not all inclusion strategies used by the two mass media, but both of them only use differentiation-indifferentiation, objectification-abstraction, nomination-categorization, assimilation-individualization inclusion strategies. In addition, the two mass media use the differentiation-indifferentiation strategy as the dominant strategy.
