Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in terms of gender differences. This problem solving ability consists of understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, implementing a problem-solving plan, and re-checking all the steps that have been done. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research that is by describing the ability of the problems that students have. The subject of this study was the eighth grade students of MTS Nurul Falah 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection techniques using interview techniques and provide test questions in accordance with indicators of problem solving. The results of this study are female students' mathematical problem solving ability is higher than that of male students.
