Abstract

The ability of learners to be developed not only in algorithmic knowledge, applying basic concepts in resolving problems, using a single solution, or describing fundamental concepts, but already leading to Are complex, and have many solutions. for that, it is needs to be an exploration of high-level thinking skills, which include evaluating skills and process skills. The method used is exploratory, using tests that test the ability of high-level thinking. The subject of this study is a student of mathematics education,  University of Islam Sumatera Utara, which amounted to 20 people. Based on the results of the exploration known that on the aspect of critical thinking only 30% capable of integrating strategy, on the aspect of creative thinking is only 10% capable of elaborating the concept, and on the aspect of problem-solving ability Only 30% can look back at each of the stages. Student weakness in the process skills lies in the mistake of using concepts, errors in using data, errors in using the calculation algorithm.
