APPLICATION OF LESSON STUDY IN THE CALCULUS I LECTURE IN THE MATHEMATIC EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM

Abstract

The quality of learning is an important thing that should be a concern of lecturers. The quality of learning can be improved through collaboration between lecturers in the implementation of lesson study. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of lesson study in calculus lectures. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were first semester students of Mathematics Education at Pasir Pengaraian University. The research was carried out in one cycle consisting of the stages of plan, do and see. Data collected in the form of student learning outcomes data and learning process data on the implementation of lesson study. Data collection techniques in the form of written tests, observations, discussions, and video documentation. Test data analysis is done by giving a score of the test results, while the learning activity data is analyzed by describing the implementation of learning. The results showed that the implementation of lesson studies in calculus in general went well. The implementation of learning runs as planned. During the learning process, students are actively involved in learning lecture material. Calculus learning results obtained from the tournament at the end of the lesson indicate the achievement of learning objectives.
