The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. Each subject of this research is a class XI IPA2 student at SMA Negeri Mimika in 2021 and 2022 with a total of 21 students. The instruments used for data collection in this study were the bottom passing assessment sheet, observation sheets for students and observation sheets for teachers. Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been stated, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the mastery of the bottom pass in the volleyball game for class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Mimika, Mimika Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year, both in terms of the process and student learning outcomes. The learning process has increased from cycle I to cycle II can be seen from the percentage of the average value of teacher and student activities in cycle I to cycle II. The percentage of the average value of teacher activity in the first cycle was 76.67% in the good category and in the second cycle increased to 88.33% in the very good category. Meanwhile, the percentage of the average value of student activity in the first cycle was 62.85% in the sufficient category and in the second cycle it increased to 83.42% in the good category. Meanwhile, the increase in student learning outcomes for the 2020/2021 academic year through learning with the STAD type cooperative method from cycle I to cycle II can be seen from the number of students who scored more than equal to 75 in the classical cycle I obtained 61.90% and in the second cycle increased to 85.71% of the number of students who took the test.
