Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of linear equation system of three variables problem solving of senior high school students in terms of gender differences. This research is a qualitative-descriptive reasearch. The subjects of this research are 1 grade 10th senior high school male student and 1 grade 10th senior high school female student. In this research used problem solving test and questionnaires to obtain the data of student’s profile of problem solving. The questionnaires was given after the problem solving test. The results showed that male student can understand the problem quickly, but the information that he write was shorter. In divise a plan and carry out the plan, he can do well, but he don’t correct his answer. The results showed that female student need more times to understand the problem, but the information that she write more complete. In divise a plan and carry out the plan, she can do well, and also she corrects her answer again. Both male and female student can solve the problem correctly
