Students' mathematical communication skills are aspects that need to be developed in mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in solving circle problems. This research is qualitative research. subjects of this study were 38 students of class VIII A-2 of Soko-Tuban 2 Junior High School who were taken by the subjects were 6 students who came from the ability grouping namely high ability, moderate ability, low ability. Data collection techniques used were tests, interviews, and documentation. The results showed (1) subjects with high grouping had good mathematical communication skills on Mathematical Communication Indicator 2 (IDK 2), and were very good at (IDK 1), (IDK 3), (IDK 4) and (IDK 5); (2) subjects with grouping are having good communication skills at (IDK 2), (IDK 3) and very good at (IDK 1), (IDK 4), (IDK 5); (3) low grouping subjects have good communication skills at (IDK 1) and not good at (IDK 2), (IDK 3), (IDK 4), (IDK 5)
