This study explore the use of small group discussion on students’ speaking skill. The issue identified by the researcher during this study is the lack of student participation in learning. As a result, the researcher conducted a study that involved both teachers and students in the learning process. The solution to address this problem was to employ group discussion strategies. Group discussions have proven to be highly effective for students in enhancing their speaking abilities, especially when speaking in public. This learning strategy heavily relies on student engagement, as in this approach, all aspects are decided and executed by the students. In conducting this research, the researcher utilized an approach called Observation and Interview. This research was proven to be effective in improving students' speaking skill

An Analysis of Symbols in Robert Frost's Poetry

This study aims to identify the symbols in Robert Frost‘s poetry and analyze the meaning of those symbols. In this study, the author is going to focus on the symbols in Robert Frost‘s poetry. The author limits this analysis to Five of Robert Frost‘s poetry, they are: “Out -Out ”, “Acquainted with the Night”, “Ghost House”, “My November Guest” and ”A Prayer In Spring”. In writing and analyzing the data on this study, the author used the descriptive qualitative. The author used the library research and technique on this study also content analysis to analyze the problem. The author find out and analyze about the symbols that reflected with theoretically and explain the meaning about the symbols in each poetry. Therefore, the result of this study concludes that In Robert Frost‘s selected poems there are symbols, they are light, the sunset, the saw, darkness, rain, the watchman, flowers, bees, bird love, ghosts, raspberries, the toad, the black bats, the whippoorwill, house, rain, tree, sky and earth. Exploring Students’ Writing Performance through Corrective Feedback

Prior studies on corrective feedback have highlighted the effect of feedback on students writing accuracy. In this present study, the impacts of corrective feedback on students’ writing performance; grammatical accuracy, complexity, fluency, content and organization, appropriateness, argumentation, interpersonal, textual, lexical were examined. Participants were 96 students who were assigned into different groups to accept written corrective feedback, content and organization of ideas, multilateral feedback (i.e., on grammatical accuracy, complexity, fluency, appropriateness, argumentation, interpersonal, textual, lexical), and control group that did not accept any feedback during learning sessions. Pre-test, post-test and delayed post-test and weekly writing revisions were carried out. The results showed that the four experiment groups showed significant improvements. The results of this study showed that students had language learning potential which can be enhanced when teachers provide corrective feedbacks. This study suggested that students’ writing skills can be improved by providing sustained feedback.

In this study, researchers found English language learning problems that emerged from students, teacher strategies and learning facilities. This fear can hinder students' progress and self-confidence, some students do not yet have good English speaking skills, students still have difficulty telling their daily activities in front of the camera, so students take action. Researchers utilize technology that is often encountered by students in everyday life apart from learning English. The media is a video blog (Vlog). from this Video Blog can be the right solution because students can improve their English speaking skills as well as take advantage of technology.

Teachers' and Students' Perspectives on Discovery Learning at Elementary School for Reading Comprehension

This study aimed to investigate EFL learners’ and teachers’ perspectives on using the Discovery Learning method towards the students’ reading story comprehension. For this purpose, one teacher was interviewed and the thirteen students of Tambaagung Ares Elementary School were given questionnaires related to the benefit, interests, activities, and implementation strategies of Discovery Learning. Based on the analysis of the data collected, students and teachers had positive perspectives of Discovery learning to be implemented in Elementary school.
